JOB DESCRIPTION
: 
The Austrian Development Agency (ADA), the operational unit of the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC), is looking for an Administrative and Communication Officer (locally contracted, full time, f/m) for the project "EU Green Agriculture Initiative in Armenia" (EU-GAIA).
RESPONSIBILITIES
: 
This position is based in the ADC/EU-GAIA project office in Yerevan. Under the direct supervision of the Project Team Leader, the incumbent will perform the following functions for the project:
Administrative tasks
- Carry out logistical and administrative tasks for the implementation of the Project events including but not limited to: meetings, seminars, conferences, site visits;
- Make travel arrangements for the project staff, contracted experts and meeting attendees, and prepare all necessary financial documentation;
- Assist the Finance and Administrative Manager with assembling financial and narrative reports and forwarding them to the EU and/or ADA HQ;
- Assist the Finance and Administrative Manager with the submission of tax exemption certificates for the project to the RA Ministry of Economy;
- Maintain office supplies stock and place orders;
- Perform a variety of clerical and secretarial tasks, including, taking notes and preparing minutes of meetings, making unofficial translations in relation to the project activities etc;
- Support the Project Team Leader in preparation of project reports and deliverables (monthly, quarterly and annual).
Communication tasks
- Ensure the implementation of the project communication and visibility plan, in compliance with EU and ADA regulations;
- Develop and maintain relationships with media, organize and ensure media coverage of EU-GAIA activities;
- Distribute and store correspondence (e.g. letters, emails and packages);
- Support the project team in creating, editing and translating documents and presentations;
- Create and plan the communications and visibility activities to support the successful implementation of the project;
- Support, create, develop and assemble event, meeting, and conference materials, including press releases, other public information, and ensure media coverage for the events;
- Manage and regularly update the project’s social media accounts; prepare and supervise the content with project-related events, activities;
- Identification and development of storylines for publications and substantive articles, project-related success stories or videos, other promotional materials;
- Develop media content with the support of the project team for all promotional materials;
- Coordinate and manage all publication activities, including content management, norms for publishing, design, liaison with suppliers to oversee production, supervision of dissemination of publications;
- Ensure the proper documentation of all project and project-supported activities including visual media (e.g. photos and videos);
- Maintenance of information database and photo/video library;
- Support and track communications with external partners;
- Proofread and edit documents including correspondence, reports.
- Carry out any other duties as required by the Supervisor.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
: 
- University degree in a relevant field (e.g. public relations, communications, development studies, economics or another relevant field);
- At least 3 years of professional experience of an administration position in an international environment, working experience in PR and communications;
- Good knowledge of modern office procedures, proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media;
- Good knowledge of visibility guidelines, communication principles, concepts, techniques and methods;
- Excellent written and oral communication/reporting, and presentation skills in English and Armenian are required; German and/or Russian would be an asset;
- Demonstrated creative thinking, initiative and self-motivation in handling all assigned tasks;
- Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
- Good knowledge of the Armenian agricultural context is an asset;
- Experience in EU-funded projects is an asset;
- Understanding of international development cooperation principles and quality standards is highly desirable;
- Demonstrated gender, diversity and environmental competence, ability to integrate the gender perspective into tasks and activities;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in multinational and multicultural environments;
- Adherence to the highest standards of ethics and integrity;
- Capacity to work under pressure and availability to travel;
- Flexibility to adjust working hours to actual workload, as required.

The Austrian Development Agency (ADA) has been delegated by the European Union (EU) to implement a strategic project focusing on development of Green Agriculture in Armenia (EU-GAIA). The overall objective of the action is to contribute to the realization of shared and balanced inclusive growth in the Northern provinces of Armenia through boosting green agriculture and enhancing local value added by focusing on the following specific objectives:

Specific Objective 2: Selected agribusinesses have better access to infrastructure, green technologies, good agricultural practices and markets

The project worth 13.3 Mio. Euros will be implemented with an end date of 28 May 2025. To support the ADC Office for Technical Cooperation in Yerevan in ensuring a successful implementation of this project, ADA is recruiting an experienced Administrative and Communication Officer for a maximum of 8 months starting in October 2024.
